My New Calling

I told you a week or so ago that I got a new calling in our church to replace my work in the nursery. Thank goodness I'm still in charge of the women's sports for our stake! I have to get my fitness fix somewhere now that I'm no longer a member of Curves.

It's funny, I've been a Girl Scout leader for 20 years and my new calling (or opportunity to give service) is very similar. I'm doing Activity Days for the 10 and 11-year-old girls. We had our first meeting today and of the 8 girls on my list, only 3 showed up. I was a little disappointed at first, but we had so much fun making fondant and decorating cupcakes, that everything was perfect.

Princess is an amazing teacher for girls this age and she was a pro as usual. I hovered around and tried to be useful. The upside of only 3 girls when we planned for 8 is that they each got to make 5 cupcakes instead of just a couple.

I'm excited to work with these cute girls. They are wonderfully creative and so happy to be here. Hopefully they will all come next time. :)

Oh, Sandy! You will be GREAT with the activity day girls! I LOVED my time doing activity days! I was so sad when they released me, but two weeks later was when Chris started getting super sick, so it was a blessing in disguise. I had 8 girls on my list and normally only has about 5 show up, so I was shocked the two times that all 8 came! I hope they all come next time!

I have had that calling twice and it is one of my favorite ones. The girls are always so happy to learn.
Blessings to you for this one; you will love it.

Your sweet daughter certainly is a jewel helping out and caring about other young ladies..You are amazing doing what you do, oh, my goodness sakes alive, with a large family you tenderly take care of faithful to your faith and wonderful husband, what an example to others who don't know how to juggle anything...God is blessing your daughter on her mission and your son who is on his mission living at home...If only others could follow your wonderful example, I salute and pray for you daily, how is the FINGER doing? hope great, happy memorial day, ciaoX()X()X()X()
