The Schedules

I have been on pins and needles this week knowing that the baseball schedules are coming out. Scout got her softball schedule on Monday and it just happened to be the day the Dog Walker and I spent the hour during her practice in the van waiting in the parking lot. He was reading his chapter for his Marriage and Family class out loud to me and I was updating the calendar.

I think I've told you before that every year I buy a huge calendar from Staples and we keep everybody's activities on it. That keeps me mostly on top of what's going on. Usually. OK, sometimes I know what's going on...

Just waiting for baseball to start!
I copied all of Scout's games to the calendar. I don't know about your leagues, but in ours they can play any night of the week so there is no way to plan anything until it all comes out in writing. Scout's biggest issue will be that she has three games over the top of her dance class so she will have to choose. Since she is currently playing shortstop and her dance teacher thinks she's awesome, it's going to be a tough one!

While I was sitting at Sport's scrimmage game tonight, I was talking with the Team Mom when she mentioned that the schedules were supposed to be up any day, so when I got home I decided to check out the website. Both schedules were up! Curly only has 9 games and Sport has 14. What are the odds that we won't have conflicts? Scout has 10 games plus a tournament.

I held my breath a little as I copied the dates onto the calendar. Would you believe we only have 2 games that are actually at the same time??? We have a few that might run over each other by a few minutes and then we have some major issues like the fact that Sport has a game the same night as his band concert, but mostly everything is going to work out fine! I will be at the ball park pretty much every night of my life for the next two months, but I guess I can live with that.
Tired of waiting for schedules

Just Dance gets us fit for softball!
I just wish it would warm up a little. The days are so beautiful, but by the time evening rolls around it gets pretty nippy. Tonight I actually left my house for Sport's scrimmage game without a jacket or a blanket. It took me about 10 minutes before I called the Drama Queen and begged her to bring something over. She brought both a blanket and my leather jacket and I still just about froze to death in the 2 1/2 hours I sat at the park.

OK, that was a little dramatic, but it was cold!

I might just have to fire up my old laptop so I can write my posts while I'm basking in the sun (or shivering under a blanket), waiting for one of the kids to have a turn at bat.

I guess I can live with that.

WOW! That is an intense calendar! It looks like your Sundays are fairly wide open :) our calendar looks pretty empty, I think the only things on it right now are the rest of my ob appts and my baby showers! Life sure gets crazy when you have kids! Good luck with the next two months!

That is impressive and lucky that there are only that few conflicts with that many games. I have two in soccer right now and I think almost half of their games are at the same time. Luckily they play at the same park in fields right next to each other but still annoying.
