We got up pretty early this morning even though we got in late and we changed timezones. My sweetie climbed back on the shuttle to the airport so he could pick up our rental car. It didn't take us long to pack up the car and be on our way.
We wanted a chance to go to church and the latest one we could find was nearly an hour away and it started at noon.I love that the church is true everywhere! We only stayed for Sacrament Meeting and we dutifully wore our masks although maybe only half the congregation wore them. Someone told my sweetie that most of the ward had caught COVID when just one guy came to a ward party and he was sick. Such an awful disease! We had to test before we can get on the cruise ship tomorrow and even though we were pretty sure, it was still a relief to see the negative results. After church, we stopped by a Wawa and bought a sandwich for lunch (and dinner) and then we drove to Cocoa Beach. It was a little too early to check into our hotel, so my sweetie drove us to a public beach where we walked in the sand and watched the surfers. I even picked up a few shells for the girls. The water was pretty angry and looked cold to me, but we still saw some kids playing in the surf in their swimsuits. We only stayed a few minutes before we climbed back in the car and drove to our hotel. Suprisingly. it turned out to be a beautiful little suite, so we spent the evening relaxing and watching TV. I am so excited to get on a big ship for the first time tomorrow! Caribbean, here we come!
