Memorial Day Weekend (Monday)

I have finally recovered from the weekend enough to tell you about it. We started with a photography contest for the 4 kids we had with us, Dog Walker, Scout, Curly, and Baby Doll. We were traveling in tandem with Bossy's family. Eventually, Burrito and Skittles ended up in the van with us.

We started in Nephi, where Bossy and her family were already there, having a little picnic.

Then we were back on the road for Axtell. I love this old cemetery!

Although I don't love pics of myself, this is a great reminder of my roots. My great Aunts and Uncle are all buried here as well as my great grandparents. The entire cemetery is covered in rocks and beautiful stones.

Then we stopped in Centerfield where my grandma and grandfather are buried.

Sometimes my sweetie just looks so good!

Then it was Ephraim and a quick tour of my childhood home before we stopped at the cemetery and Baby Doll took this pic of my mom's grave.

Then we were quickly off to Spring City which is likely the oldest cemetery we visit, mostly based on the size of the trees.

Our final cemetery for the day had to wait until we had a little visit with grandma.

Time for Mt Pleasant cemetery!

Then we hit the playground!!

Time for dinner at the Dairy Freeze.

Finally, 90 minutes plus traffic and we are home and ready for bed. A long, but fun day.

Memorial Day Weekend (Sunday)

So beyond our Friday and Saturday full of baseball, after church on Sunday, Curly decided to arrange a family softball game. Bossy and Gamer turned it into a cookout.

Skittles and Curly were our most dedicated players. (Sorry for the bad pics, I was holding the baby).

After everyone had a chance to hit, we sat in the shade and ate brats and watermelon.

Baby Doll climbed a tree.

You might think that is how she ended up in the emergency room, but no...

She was hit in the upper arm by an errant foul ball.

Not broken! But it is so swollen that it is pinching her ulnar nerve and her fingers are tingly and her arm hurts.

Looking forward to a quick recovery.

Baby Doll

It's the end of May and school will be out soon. Scout will become a senior, Curly will leave middle school behind and become a sophomore, but most significant will be Baby Doll.

She will be leaving the elementary school our kids have attended for the last 29 years. It is definitely the end of an era.

Last week, Scout and I spent an hour at the school watching Baby Doll play the part of Death in Pandora's Box. Do you think she could try any harder not to smile?

So very proud of her and the beautiful young lady she has become.

Moving So Fast

Life has been moving so fast! I wanted to tell you about a couple of things. First, my cute niece and her family are leaving Utah and my scout troop.

Before leaving, we had a fun evening activity that included a little star-gazing as soon as it got dark.

The girls really enjoyed that activity. We also had a great time at the pool last week.

We have spent the weekend watching Curly play baseball. Life just speeds by and I don't know how to stop it. Any thoughts?

Watching the Boys

This weekend has been full of babysitting. We had Beauty and The Beast's boys while they took a little holiday.

We spent one day hanging out at Bossy's house.

We went to church and baseball games. We had an unplanned family get-together on Sunday.

And on Tuesday, we ran away altogether.

We headed to Ogden for the George Eccles Dinosaur Museum.

Then we all went swimming.

It was the first time Bossy took her baby swimming.

It was an exhausting, exciting day.

Time for an Update

Today we had a fun get-together with the kids. Games and a pot-luck dinner. Here are some fun pics.

Such a bunch of cuties!
