Of all the videos my kids have made for Reflections over the years, this is my very least favorite. And yet, it is one of the most watched on our YouTube channel. Crafty is a little embarrassed by her silliness, but since she is in the Philippines, I guess she won't know... don't  tell her....

Spring Concerts

You know it is nearly the end of the school year when it's time for the Spring Concerts. Tonight we got to see Curly play his Tenor Sax along with the Concert Band in the middle of the high school gym. There wasn't enough seating and we barely got a sideshot.

The bands were awesome as usual though, and the one good thing about the gym was that they could bring all three bands back together for one huge impressive number.

Pretty exciting! Now on to Baby Doll's concert next week...

Tadpole Plays Soccer

We love watching our grandkids when they try new things.  That's why we made arrangements to watch Tadpole play soccer tonight.

He did a great job and after the game was over, we stopped by the house to see the rest of the family.

Such a bunch of cuties! I can't think of a better way to spend the evening.

Blast from the Past - My Missionaries

Tonight I spent about two hours on the phone with Sister Crafty in the Philippines. It was so much fun to meet her companion, watch her clean her little apartment and talk about plans and hopes for holding her in my arms again in just over 100 days. Having a missionary serving our Lord is such a bittersweet gift. 

I was scrolling through my phone after we hung up and I came across this collage that I don't remember seeing before.

Not one, but two precious gifts. Can't wait to hear from Elder Sport tomorrow.

Last Day of Spring Break

Today was our last real day of Spring Break. The Beast brought his boys over so Bossy and I took them and her two youngest to the rec center to swim.

Curly and The Beast worked out while we played in the water.

Baby Doll and Scout joined us along with a couple of their friends. They also came back to the house for dinner and a movie.

It was a good day.

Spring Break Sleepover

I know I told you that our Spring Break was a little low key this year, but it was actually full of "firsts." This little guy (known as Skittles on the blog) is almost 4 and he had his very 1st sleepover at Grandma's house.

I'm pretty sure he was more excited about hanging out with Pebbles than he was with me. They love playing in the sandpile.

And bugging Curly when he is pounding hundreds of balls into his bow-net.

At least we all had a good time. I think...

Going to the Temple

You all know I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Well, in our church, we have several different kinds of buildings; most common are the buildings we attend every Sunday. We also have Temples where we only go once in a while and we help our kindred dead with saving ordinances. So kids have to be at least 11 years old to do the very special and sacred work of being baptized and confirmed for people who are in our own family line. When I told you about Spring Break, I didn't tell you that Baby Doll had her first opportunity to go to the Temple and do baptisms.

On Tuesday, Baby Doll, Curly, Grandpa, Burrito, Scout and I all went to the Jordan River Temple. It was so fun to be part of this special day with her. 

Then today the kids went again with Taco and Curly and Baby Doll also went with members of their youth groups.

We love serving in the Temple and Baby Doll is the last one of our children to have that experience. Time is slipping by so fast. 

Spring Break

It's been a very quiet Spring Break for us this year. My sweetie has been working and nursing a toothache. Baby Doll is finishing up her last week of volleyball. Scout is working and catching up on some homework, and Curly is playing baseball. 

We didn't think the week would be quite like this, but we are having fun.

The game tonight was a makeup game that became an unfortunate 9 - 4 loss even though Curly had a pretty good game.

Baby Doll was with me at the game, but I'm pretty sure she was watching something else...

Guest Blog: Happy Easter by Elder Sport

Hey Everyone! Hope y'all had a great couple weeks!

Happy Easter!

I'm staying another transfer in Aberdeen, so about 6 months at least, baby! I'd been here the longest and was expecting to leave, and instead all 3 Elders in Aberdeen leave and I'm the only one to stay! We got an extra week in this transfer though, North Dakota had a huge blizzard last week so transfers were moved to this week. I'm sad I missed the blizzard down here in South Dakota!

It's been a good last few weeks with Elder R, I will definitely miss his when he goes tomorrow to Rapid City! I'm also gonna miss Elder B and Elder B, Japan is opening so I'm sure they'll be going there soon! Sister S is leaving as well so me and Sister M are the only surviors!

A brother in our Ward gave a really good talk 2 Sundays ago, I loved his closing quote!  "Search Inward, Turn Outward, Look Upward, and Press Forward!"

This last Easter Sunday we heard from a few people in the ward who had went to the temple, it was awesome! 

Our friend Ken who got baptized last year was able to go for the first time and if was so cool to hear his testimony of the temple, he said he felt like someone said, "it's about dang time."

We also had a really young young women go do baptisms for the dead, it was her second time. While waiting she had an experience picturing a young girl dancing around, excited to be baptized, saying thanks, and telling her her name. The young women was shocked to see the girl's name in her stack she was about to do. She bore powerful testimony of the experience, and the spirit in the room was undeniable and felt like it was compressing in the chapel, like it was too much for the space of the room, like it would bust out the doors! It was so awesome!

Isaiah 25: 8

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces...
