Traveling Together - Zion's National Park

Bossy and I both camped at Recreation.gov at 9:00 on Friday morning and the minute they released the next-day shuttle tickets for Zion's National Park, we each grabbed eight. Our family group had grown as Drama Queen, Crafty and her boyfriend, and Gamer had joined us. Beauty and The Beast were coming down on Saturday. It was sort of a socially distanced family party.

Ok, some of them were socially distanced. 😉

So when Saturday morning rolled around, we all piled into cars and headed for Zion's. Our first stop was the Visitor's Center where they loaded us onto the shuttle for the drive up the canyon.

The scenery was absolutely stunning! I had been to the park for many summers as a child, but my sweetie had never been there.

We did a little hiking, but the teenagers were all worried about staying close to internet service. That Saturday was the third and final day for the Teen Health Summit and the kids had to be online to be part of the final drawings.

They were giving away lots of stuff, but our kids were most excited about the chromebooks.

So when we were about half an hour from prizes, we made our way back to the one stop with reliable internet.

Some of us picnicked on the grass while the teens huddled near the bookstore for a reliable signal. A moment later, they came running up, giant smiles and out of breath. "I won a chromebook!" Burrito panted before collapsing on the ground.

Later, back at the hotel, we made arrangements to have food brought in from Chile's and management let us eat together in the cafe. It was the perfect end to an amazing day.
