Last Dance Competition

As usual, my life is always about divide and conquer! Tonight Drama Queen's assignment was to take Crafty to her dance competition. It was her last solo of the season. She has done a total of 4 this year and she has not scored as high as she wanted to. In fact, we hadn't even signed her up for this last Aspire Nationals competition until a couple of weeks ago.

Then her mentor recommended that she needed one more opportunity, so we plunked down the money including a late fee, and she was in. She has had a rough week with the dance concert, AP test, and sadly, being cut from Bingham's Dance company yesterday. I believe she must have channeled all that stress and emotion into her solo tonight.

 

I'm sure she was excited to receive a 1st place trophy in her event (for the first time), but she was likely stunned to find that she had won the overall high point honors for her age group! The second trophy she received was taller than she is! They couldn't hardly get it in the car to bring it home.

So proud of her! Now where are we going to put that gigantic trophy... ?
