Dog Walker's Photoshop skills make some very interesting gifts... |
We had already chased around all weekend as you know, but I love the opportunity to get the kids together for a party. Fajita had to work until 6:00, so we didn't start the party until about 6:30 which was nice since Crafty was speaking in Sacrament Meeting and things were a little crazy during our morning prep hours.
My sweetie grilled asparagus, pork chops, and hot dogs. Drama Queen made cheesy pasta and cheesy potatoes. Beauty made the cake and Bossy and Fajita did most of the decorating. The Dog Walker brought home about 6 cartons of various ice cream flavors on Saturday night and I wrapped the gifts.
It was fun sitting around and visiting. So far they have not taken the foster kids, so Chips and Salsa are still with us although the 10-day notice is up tomorrow. Bossy and Gamer are working on their final appeals. The one today was more promising than the first one, so now we just have to wait and see what happens.

Why doesn't your daughter and son in law consider adopting the two children..The state of Utah will continue to move them around that is what the states do and it doesn't benefit the children whatsoever..If they truly love them and want them adoption could be the answer..please discuss this with your daughter and son in law~~~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We have been trying to adopt for over a year. We had an adootion date in January. DCFS has declined our adoption. Our appeals were to be able to adopt.
Didn't you work as a social worker? What is up with the state of Utah, if they really want to protect and care for children from homes unfit them let the process begin to adopt these two sweet angels..How does the state justifty the fact they don't place foster kids in homes with potential parents? It would benefit the kids a lot and the loving families that want them..Lots of beauracratic red tape prevents couples like you and your husband and extended families from becoming parents, grrrrrr a pox on the state of Utah..I am praying and chanting for you both to be able to adopt these children who would really be loved and cared for..shame on the state agency that prevents this, maybe God has a good plan for the adoption of these children but you both just don't know it yet!?!?!?! will keep praying they see the light in your situation!
It comes down to finances. Honestly, adding these boys to our household without their fostercare payments would be difficult. In my opinion, it should be our call not the states, however, they are saying we cannot afford to adopt them and the law says it is upto the worker completing the homestudy to determine if we meet criteria. Unfortunately, we got a worker who doesn't believe families our size can make it on our income (even though it is above poverty level).
Another awesome Birthday Celebration; Happy Birthday to Fajita! Continue to pray that the court rules in their behalf. I really want this to work for them. Blessings and hugs~
