Yesterday morning, Dog Walker dropped us at the airport around noon. We got checked in and headed for the Delta Sky Club. Our flight to Tulsa didn't leave until 2:20.
We got on the plane, stowed our gear and settled in.
It was a smaller plane with no screens, so I opened my kindle and my sweetie put on his headphones. After about 20 minutes, the pilot came on to tell us that the only deicer at the Tulsa Airport had broken and the flight was canceled.
We were at the front of the plane so we grabbed our stuff and headed up the ramp. I wanted to be first in line to rebook flights. My sweetie wasn't feeling great and he was fine with just going home, but we finally settled on an 8:45 flight into Oklahoma City. Within 30 minutes. We had canceled one and booked another hotel, changed our car rental, and looked around for an alternate plan for the next 4 hours. We had already been in the Delta Lounge. We had no car, so going back home was not a good choice. At the Help Center, someone suggested Minute Suites. It was close by, so we decided to check it out.
It was NOT cheap, but my sweetie was excited to lay down for a few hours.
We checked out of our little room at 7:00, grabbed food at Panera and boarded the 8:45 flight to Oklahoma City.
This time worked. We nearly froze to death before we got to the hotel, but it was sure nice to sleep. It only took me a couple of hours and sleeping in my hoodie and under my coat to get warm.
