Sweethearts' Dance

So guess who went dancing tonight?

If you guessed Princess, you are right! But if you guessed me, you are right too! It was pretty tricky supporting her and her date at the Sweethearts' Dance and still going out, but we managed. This dance was a girls' choice and she invited a different boy in our neighborhood this time. We were a little worried since both of them are so quiet, but somebody must have done some talking because she said she had a fantastic time.

After the Drama Queen did her hair and we sent her out the door, my sweetie made an amazing eggplant parmesan for dinner. Then after giving piles of instructions, we headed off to our dance. The plan was for us to be back home by 9:30 so we could supervise the chocolate fountain and Chinese lanterns.

So after dancing the night away, I glanced at my phone and noticed it was 9:21. We snuck in one more slow dance and headed for the door. About the time we hit the hallway, Princess sent a text telling us she was on her way home...half an hour early!!!

The snow kept us from driving like crazy and by the time we got here, she and her date were parked on the driveway. We hurried inside, but we didn't have to worry, Teach had everything under control. While the kids enjoyed dipping fruit and bits of angel food cake into the fountain, my sweetie tried to figure out the lanterns.

He finally got one lit and then like all teenagers, the kids wanted to set off their own. Kara's date lit a huge hole in his and it had to be scratched. Everyone else eventually got one off except that one of them blew toward the tree and as we stressed over it catching fire it suddenly veered back toward the house. But then the wind caught it and it soared steadily upward.

After our pyrotechnics and a few more pictures, Kara and her date took off and Nate said his goodbyes to Princess on the porch. (I love it when her dates have their own cars!)

Don't they look cute together?!

Oh my gosh; what an event. Your daughter is beautiful and had a cute date. Your dance sounded good too. We were suppose to have gone to our Stake Dance but didn't get too. Drats; I love dances.
Loved the pictures and the thoughts.
Blessings to you all!
