The doc was so good about letting us take pics! |
His older brothers have both had their nails taken off and they have been very happy with the results. It seems to be a hereditary issue. So we let him decide.
It took him a few days to come to the conclusion that this was a good move. He was worried about football, but he didn't want to wait until November when the season is over.
Friday was the chosen day. He helped put up flags for 9/11 and then when all his friends and Crafty were leaving for school, I took him to see the podiatrist.
He took it like a trooper at first, but after a while it started to get to him. He is like me and he needs that extra bit of pain killer to get numb. By the time the doc was cauterizing the edges, we had all had enough.
Fortunately, he has been able to play football and keep his commitments to his team although they did lose today. And he did go to school right from the doctor's office, but other times he has had trouble from the pain. Hopefully by Monday he will be back to normal.

praying for his toe
Oh my gosh that is not fun at all. I would say very painful. He is brave and to play football and go back to school afterwards. Wow, prayers and hugs for him!
