Tons of Jam Jars

Guess what we have been doing for the last couple of days! My apricots were finally ripe and had to be used, so we made jam...LOTS of jam!

Bossy said she was nearly out and of course we needed some small jars for Princess and when I have this much fruit, I always try to treat my neighbors at Christmastime with a jar of sweetness. We made 120 this year and I never have any trouble giving them all away.

All told over the two-day period, we made over 100 quarts of apricot jam and there are STILL apricots on the tree! Crafty also prepared several gallon bags for the freezer so she could use them for smoothies. My sweetie even made a huge batch of salsa. Bossy said we made 37 batches of jam...

No wonder I am tired.

The Awesome Wedding Video

Drama Queen has been busy for the last couple of days making the video for the wedding. I know we are still 10 days out, but I just couldn't wait to show it to you. Let me know what you think!

Free Library Books

We had a crazy Monday and it culminated in much fun as we did a few scout activities with Curly at the house before loading up all the kids and heading for the library to turn in our summer reading folders.

We each received a couple of coupons and our choice of a free book. The kids were so excited as they checked out all the titles and after way too much thought, finally each selected a book. (Actually my sweetie had the most trouble choosing...)

Then we climbed back in the car and drove over to Menchies for frozen yogurt with our buy one get one free coupons from the Riverton parade. I love just hanging out with my kids on a hot summer night with a cool treat. Thank goodness even with all the craziness of the wedding, football, dance, and school we can still manage to have a little family home evening and spend some time together.

The Bachelorette Party

Last night we had a bachelorette party for Princess. It was so fun to sit around and visit, play games, and munch on food that Drama Queen prepared with a decidedly strip theme. We ate chicken strips, skinny dip with fruit and spinach salad (she reminded us that Adam and Eve used leaves to cover themselves in the Garden of Eden, so it was legit.

We had to be pretty low-key about everything since we had even her youngest sisters there. We missed Bossy and Fajita, but they had other plans before we finalized ours. Drama Queen had us play Pictionary with wedding-themed clues. Baby Doll turned to be one of our best artists with a little help from Princess to explain the words.

Thanks for hosting, Teach!
Drama Queen also spent tons of time designing "Strip" Bo cards. They were very much like Skip Bo except that each one had an article of clothing on it. We also had a wedding-themed game of Scattergories. My most clever answer beginning with the letter "o" involved what a groom wears and I said "odor-eaters." I got a point for that one.

We finished off with banana splits and scandalous gifts, but not too scandalous. My little girls each gave her a towel labeled "Skinny Dipping Only." I chose a cute nightie that she might actually wear to bed, but let's not go there. This is a family-friendly blog.
