Baby Doll's First Tournament

Baby Doll finished her season at Bingham, and started right up with Club ball at GSL. She is basically on the same team she was on last year with about half of the same girls. The other half are new.

She had her first tournament of the year starting on Friday. Thank goodness this one was close. Our first pool play games were in Lehi. It was only about 30 minutes. As we were driving, we drove right past Trove where Sport works. So I called him and he came down to watch one of her matches. He was pretty impressed with her level of play.

She is #24 again this year. It was my jersey number from high school basketball. It's awesome that she chooses to wear it.

Pool play consisted of 4 teams and they played matches with 3 of them. We were there from 3:00-10:00 after she had most of a school day! They came in 2nd in their pool which was good news since it meant they would play on their home court at the Jetty in the morning.

More tomorrow...

Triple Crown Tournament

Baby Doll started her last in-town tournament before Nationals in Phoenix. The Triple Crown is held at the Expo Center and it is quite a bit smaller than the one held at the Salt Palace several weeks ago.

She was amazing yesterday! I forgot to take any pics until right before we left, but I will get some today. Thankfully, they are playing in the afternoon wave so we can still go to church first.

She is the silly one wearing the Christmas pajamas.

Traveling Together - Phoenix

On Sunday morning, my sweetie and I got up early and we went to church.

We had time to make and eat lunch before we drove into Phoenix for day 1 of Baby Doll's volleyball Nationals tournament.

She played really well, never even sitting. Here are some pics.

More pool play tomorrow.

Crazy Weekend! - Saturday

We had to be at the venue by 7:20am and I had to have my snacks and lunches ready. Why can't I ever do anything the easy way??

The girls struggled and even though they had some good volleys, they just couldn't get the wins.

Sure wish I had my camera in sports mode for that one! Finally, it was time for lunch. The Dog Walker and my sweetie brought the lunches up and the girls enjoyed them together.

After one more set with the other GSL team (we won the first, but lost the second 2), we hurried to the car. Our day was far from over.

Baby Doll quickly changed into her dance costume and six of us piled into my car. The girls did her hair and makeup as we drove to Kearns High School and we walked through the door just in time to hear Angela announce the Lower School program. We slipped into seats near Bossy's family as the lights dimmed. This was Skittles's first real recital.

My sweetie missed the drama. He came in during the break between programs. We quickly did his infusion, yes, right there in the auditorium. He was a little embarrassed, but we really only had a few minutes before Baby Doll's recital began.

They had a huge finale!

Thankfully, Crafty made dinner. Then Sport and I went to Kohl's looking for shoes. We got these great shoes for $24 each.

Unfortunately for Sport, they are Curly's size.

Such a looong and crazy day!!

Crazy Weekend! - Friday

Last day of school, but Baby Doll was more worried about her volleyball tournament. Thankfully, it was close by. We had to be there early.

We got home just in time to grab my very large grocery order. My sweetie took Baby Doll to her dress rehearsal for the dance recital and I took Curly to his last baseball game.

We grabbed one more grocery order on the way home. I still had to put together dinner and the rest of the lunches and snacks for the team tomorrow. And I had to stay up until at least midnight to do my sweetie's last infusion of the day. And Baby Doll has to be on the court by 7:20 am tomorrow...

So tired.
