Last night Princess participated in the Miss South Jordan pageant, and although she worked very hard and did a terrific job on her talent and her interview, she did not place in the top 3.
There were several areas involved with this pageant, like swimsuit, interview, talent, onstage question, and evening gown. She was beautiful and poised every time and I was so proud of her. We talked about the fact that as long as she brought her "A" game then everything would turn out the way it was supposed to. I'm glad she doesn't have to try to rearrange her flight to Washington DC with the FCCLA group just so she can ride a float in 3 parades on July 4.
But I really did want her to win. This pageant was a huge commitment for her and something she wanted so much.
She had to raise at least $100 for the Children's Miracle Network. She attended workshops every Thursday night for a couple of months and she invested in an evening gown and opening number outfit. But mostly she invested her heart and soul into the pageant just like everything else she ever does.
Princess never goes halfway with anything. Some might call her a super-over-achiever.
I just call her daughter.
Love you, sweet girl, you will always be a beauty queen to me.
