Easter Weekend - Sunday

We had a beautiful Easter Sunday, bursting with sunshine, happiness, and family. 

Scout enjoyed her time filling Easter baskets so much that she offered to do it again. My sweetie and I slept in until the kids started pounding on the door.

The baskets were beautiful and full of goodies. Then is was time to get ready for church. Curly was one of the speakers and he did a great job.

We got dinner going and the kids started arriving around 2:00. We promised games and crafts.

The littles loved playing together outside.

I love that they are all becomimg best of friends.

The crafts were a hit! We painted little wooden Easter decorations and the kids made a tree out of a broken branch to hang them on.

We had a ham and baked potatoes along with a contest to see if Scout could make better deviled eggs than my sweetie.

Dinner was yummy and we ended the day with more games and a puzzle of the Last Supper.

Easter Weekend - Saturday

Saturday began bright and early with Baby Doll's volleyball tournament. They were amazing!

By the end of the tournament, they won the Gold medal in the Gold Division.

After the tournament, we set things up for dyeing eggs with the grandkids.

We had so much fun!!

My sweetie made hot cross buns this morning and they were amazing! Baby Doll squeezed this one into her lunch box.

We have had an Easter Egg Hunt for as long as my 3 youngest can remember, so when Bossy (who spent half of yesterday at the hospital) decided not to do one this year, Scout and her friend, K, made dollar store Easter baskets for everyone living at our house.

The kids were surprised and excited.

Maybe even a little stunned...

The rest of my day was filled with delivering the last of the girl scout cookies (yay!) groceries shopping and prepping for the weekend.

REVIEW: Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret.

Last week we were invited to preview Lionsgate's new movie. It just happened to be about one of my favorite Judy Blume novels, Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret.

We were an unlikely group for what is undoubtedly a movie targeted at teen and tween girls. 

Dog Walker and Curly were mostly confused by the typical girl behaviors, but Baby Doll and I really enjoyed the movie.

It was placed in 1970 and since I was born in 1965, the settings and cars, even the soda cans reminded me of my childhood.

Story-wise, I loved that this girl who was raised in a home without any religion still recognized the need to talk with God. For those of us focusing there, it was amazing.
