I Worry About This One

I've just gotta pour my heart out! I'm struggling with this one. She doesn't know if she wants to be a baby or a big girl. She hit 18 months last Saturday and in my humble opinion, she is way too old to be nursing ten times a day!  I generally wean my little ones at about 15 months, but since she may be my last, I have been a little more lenient. But I'm getting pretty tired of her trying to pull my shirt up in public. (Didn't think you'd want to see a picture of that...)

She's also decided that it's OK to climb out of the high chair. I'm not OK with that one either. I know, and it's all my fault, as my kids remind me daily. When she was about 6 months old, she had a blowout in the high chair. It was so bad that it got all over the seat belts and no matter what I did, I couldn't get them clean. Finally, I took my scissors and snipped them out. I've regretted that decision every day.

This past week she thinks it's OK to sit on the bench with the big kids, but she isn't quite tall enough and I worry about her slipping off. Maybe I'm just not ready for her to grow up yet. Anybody got a time machine?

Yea, when they are your last you definitely want to freeze a lot of things. I nursed till just over a year wit all of mine-but yea if they were still wanting to nurse that many times I would be so done, something nice about getting your body back at some point.

She's keeping you busy!!! We have an adorable wooden vintage high chair that belonged to my SIL when she was a baby that is sitting in our shed because it has no straps and my son loved to climb UP it and stand on the tray. So scary - especially since we had HARD tile floors back then!

It's hard to let kids become independent at any age. I can't believe how big she is getting.

I nurse long term (still doing it with my 3 yr old), but 10x a day is a lot! I understand about "may be my last baby". I am thinking that may be happening with my 3 yr old and I treat him like a baby still--oops. So, no advice--sorry :)

haha awwww she's so cute! My 2 year old was the same way, always thinking she was bigger than she actually was ;)

She may be your last but before you know it, lots of grands will keep you busy. None of the work, all the pleasure.

Your baby is so precious! Treasure every moment. I so admire your dedication to your children and that you still have time to blog! Wow!
Take care,
Lisa

I nursed my daughter up until she was 18 months, but not as much as 10 times a day...

Oh your little girl is soooo cute!

If you find that time machine, lend it to me, will you? :)

Of course your not ready for her to grow up but she is also so young to be doing things that her older siblings are doing. We all want to grow up too fast!

Awww, bless her heart. I hate when the baby stage starts to fade.
