Guest Blogger: Harry Potter Fanatic by Teach

There are two types of people in this world.

Those who like Harry Potter
and
those who don't.

As it turns out, I am one of those that loves Harry Potter. I'm pretty sure J. K. Rowling is borderline genius and I really love all seven of those books. I have a self-inflicted rule that I am only allowed to read Harry Potter once a year.

I allow myself to start reading HP on Thanksgiving (for the past three years) and I read the whole series usually finishing around mid February. Due to my busy schedule I managed to drag Harry out until April. The day after I finish is always the worst. I can't hardly manage without having a book to read, so trying to find a new book or series is necessary for my sanity.

So, for the sake of my sanity, dear blogger world... PLEASE offer me some good book titles!  I love most anything as long as it isn't scandalous or super violent. And although I know Harry Potter is the best series ever... I am not allowed to read it for another 7 months, so save me the false hope.

Thanks everyone! You all are rockstars!

Oh, Teach, I am right there with you. Last year my husband and I listened to all 7 audiobooks between the end of October and finished on new years eve, it was a glorious couple of months. We love everything Harry!

Another favorite series of mine is The Ranger's Apprentice by John Flanagan. The books are significantly shorter than the Harry Potters, but there are 10 or 11 of them.

I have a few series I enjoy - There is always The Hunger Games. I like anything by Anita Stansfield, and she could keep you busy for a while. I also like Orson Scott Card, specifically the Ender books, but also his other stuff. That is what is at the top of my head. Good luck!

Some other juvenile fantasy series that I have enjoyed (I don't love Harry Potter as much as you do, but I did like it). Percy Jackson by Rick Riordan --the 1st book is The Lightning Thief. Or Fablehaven by Brandon Mull. Both of those are 5 book series.
