As I Used To

Things I've discovered lately...

I can't run as fast as I used to.

I can't stay up as late as I used to.

I can't eat as much as I used to.

I can't get off the floor as well as I used to.

I can't play volleyball like I used to.

I can't sleep like I used to.

I can't brush my hair like I used to.

I can't see like I used to.

I can't remember like I used to.

I can't get down on my knees like I used to.

In a couple of months, I turn 60.

When did I get so old?

Another Canning Day

We are trying to pull in the harvest before the cold snap this weekend. Today we made 22 quarts of stewed tomatoes even though we lost one in the canner.

Baby Doll was my best helper!

Along with tomatoes, we also made 15 small jars of pickled beets.

And we prepped tomatoes and peppers so my sweetie could make us a delicious pot of stuffed peppers.

Hanging Out With Scout

Today was Columbus Day; a bank holiday. So Scout had the day off and she and I spent pretty much the whole day together. We started by hanging out with Bossy (who also had the day off). 

Then we went to lunch at Mo' Bettas. I had never been there before and I thought it might be fun to try.

The food was pretty good and not too busy, so we sat for a long time and visited.

Then we took the car for a great wash and we detailed it together. Since we were right next to JATC, we stopped by to say hi to her old teacher.

A trip to Kohl's and some great bargains; we were on our way back when my sweetie suggested we all go see a movie. We chose 6 Days in August. It was amazing!! I ate so much 🍿. 

Such a great day.
