Dyeing Eggs

Oh man, my tummy hurts!

That's what happens when you eat TOO many bunny rolls... but they just taste so good...

Wait, let me back up a bit.

You know it's Spring Break around here and all the kids were home today except for Drama Queen and Teach. They went to the UCET Conference for teachers and they loved it. Both of them are really interested in technology for teachers, in fact, Teach's MA she is working on is in that field.

This morning Princess and I went with her boyfriend to turn in his quilts for his Eagle Scout project to Primary Children's Medical Center. Then they took off for a wedding and I headed back to the house. My sweetie arrived safely from his business trip shortly afterward. I'm so happy to have him home!

The Dog Walker and I went to visit my friend for an hour and then I took Scout to the doctor for her scout camp physical. Then it was the library, the eye doctor, and another doctor's appointment for Prima Donna. We finally got home around 5:00 and scrambled to pull together the BBQ we were having for all the kids and a few extras.

Bossy boiled 20 dozen eggs while I was gone and set up the dyeing stations while my sweetie and I and an army of helpers got dinner together. We kept it casual and fun. After dinner the kids dyed their eggs in shifts and Princess and her Prince made bunny rolls for everyone. They were amazing!

There are tons of activities planned for tomorrow as well as General Conference for our church, so I'm trying to put this together so I can get some sleep.

Hope you all have a fun and happy Easter!

Guest Blog: First Day of Spring Break by Princess

It's the first day of our spring break and what better way to celebrate than a picnic? Except, it ended up being really cold and windy. Here are just a few of the 185 pictures taken on my phone today.
Too windy, so we ate in the tunnel

Road Rash

It's been an interesting week. My sweetie has been out of town on a business trip and that means things are a little different. I try to get all that annoying stuff done that I never get around to doing. Drama Queen has been my right arm, preparing meals and getting kids off to school so I can work on scholarship applications for Princess.

Last night I went to Tupperware training. I didn't want to miss because I was hoping to win the Easter Basket (which I did!). It was full of fun Easter goodies and treats and of course a little Tupperware.

But I digress...

So anyway, I'm sitting at training, trying to figure out the important things I want to share with our team during my demo when my phone beeps at me. That's when I notice several texts and even a phone call from the Dog Walker.

I quickly scroll through them and get this, "You won't believe what happened to Curly just now," along with a couple of sad faces. I hate it when he sends me texts like that because I immediately start envisioning the worst possible scenarios.

I typed a quick "What?" and opened the text from Teach.

That's when I saw his pretty sad case of road rash. Then came the text from Dog Walker, "He was jumping from the monkeybars in the sandbox and accidentally fell and faceplanted right in the sand."

Poor guy, he looks even worse today.

The Answer

Pics were hard because the wind was blowing.
If you remember, a few days ago, Princess asked her boyfriend to Girls' Pref. She was expecting him to answer, she just didn't know when or how. Then yesterday when she was at dance, one of the girls casually mentioned that her car was leaving the parking lot.

She glanced out the window but didn't think much about it, just assuming I had to borrow it for a little while. That wouldn't be the first time that has happened. A short while later her car was returned to its original spot, but something was different.

Every time they opened the door, stuff blew everywhere!
There was an envelope under the wiper blade and across the back seat were three pink balloons with the letters Y E S spelling out his answer. He had even taken the time to gather up all the confetti and the paper shreds from his own bedroom floor and he graciously returned them all over both rows of seats in her car. (I do like a boy who is frugal...)

Now if Prima Donna and Fajita will just get their boys asked, we will be good to go.
