I started this blog on January 19, 2011. I was only a week away from my 46th birthday and I guess you could call this my mid-life crisis (although I’m not sure I want to live to be 92). That was the day my eye doctor prescribed the bifocals. I’ve bounced around a lot in my posts, some from my childhood, some from our early marriage, and plenty from our current life.
My favorite January post explained why I have a church pew on my front porch and confessed that I also have one in my living-room!
February was mostly dedicated to our “falling in love” story, although I did manage to throw some other crap in there as well. The Gym Rat celebrated his 24th birthday and he became my first kid who actually appeared in a post. My sweetie has long since agreed to let me post actual pictures, but when our blog was young, he was still hoping for a little anonymity. My favorite story from February is about the Dog Walker playing basketball. You don’t want to miss that one.
We started the Food for Thought Feature in March. It has been a fun way to share and archive our family recipes, but my favorite part of that is the stories. Almost everything we eat has some family history in it. People have asked me about the Dog Walker so many times that March seemed like a good time to share. I wrote seven different posts about autism and his diagnosis and treatment, so many that Bossy told me I was getting boring! And that didn’t count my favorite post on Cell Phones that is definitely classic Dog Walker.
I’m so glad I started this blog so I could keep track of the day-to-day silliness. It's been fun looking at some of the old posts and choosing my favorites. Let me know which ones you like best.

I love this! I am going to have so much fun going back and reading these posts! :)
You forgot a Food For Thought this week. You could do Turkey Rice Casserole tomorrow. Teach would put them up for you.
Holy pews!!! Lol that is possibly my favorite story I have read out of all of the people that linked up. Love it!!! Thanks for linking up!
It's fun to go back and read old posts. Like reading from a journal.
I went back to a couple of years ago, and can see even a writing change in mine. So fun!
Here's to more years of blogging!
While I love reading all the stories, I think my favorite post is when you showed all the things that you have two or more of in your house. It was very enlightening!
Oh I already clicked on a few of the links and will be reading those next.
I am amazed at how many just started their blogs this year. I feel like an old timer- three years now for me.
Thanks so much for recapping with us! I have your point recorded
Blogging is a fun way to journal and it's great to be able to go back and read old post.
I guess there's a way to book your blog, which I still want to do.
My grandparents have a church pew on their front porch!
Great recap! I started my blog exactly a week after you on Jan. 26th.
I love that you have church pews! I think I could use some of those. My kids definitely need church reverence practice. So glad you joined us!
Oh my goodness! I just read your bifocals post...what a cool story you have! If I would have started having babies at a younger age, I would have had more than 4.
Thanks for recapping with us!
