Guest Blogger: Drama Queen - Gettysberg

Hey, Blog-World!  Our crazy clan had a pretty quiet day today.  After getting checked out of our hotel, we headed to a nearby meetinghouse and got through at least an hour of church.  I heard most of it, but I can't say I saw too much..my eyes were closed most of the time.  I had Scout and Crafty sleeping on me from either side and the rest of the pew was filled with similliar episodes of sleeping.  When we got back out to the van, Prima Donna protested the thought of homework under the banner that 'not everyone had had their nap during church.'

I'm afraid poor Dad faced up to most of the drive in from Hershey's with silence and snores.  He really is incredible.  I offered to drive some before we set out, but he's really gone the whole way himself. I don't think I would have made it this far.  Not in how quickly we've done it.  Three Cheers for Sweetie!

This afternoon we went to Gettysberg.  We ended up doing the auto tour and it was really interesting. Prima Donna was absolutely beside herself with historian glee.  Dad and I were both surprised by how big it was.  When they talk about it in history class, it always seems like just one field but it's a lot more than that.

After Gettysberg we got into our new hotel and Mom and I took some of the kids swimming before a drive around downtown Phildelphia and late dinner.  Great day, all around...now let's hope we can keep the kids asleep rather than watching more of the Food Network!

Great job guesting and I got a kick out of your sleeping arrangements.
Gettysberg is an interesting if sad place in our history. I always got goosebumps at the battlefields. So many young men gave their lives.

What a great job by the Drama Queen. Your trip sounds like a fun one. I loved visiting Gettsberg. I just love history. Keep on enjoying those moments on this trip.
Blessings to you all and be safe!
