Traveling as Two - Delaware

We loaded and left the condo right after breakfast. My sweetie didn't want to leave town before we drove through Colonial Williamsburg.  We wanted to see the Governor's Palace, but it would require a hike and we just didn't have time. We had a long drive ahead and we wanted to get some of it behind us. The rain was gone and it left us some beautiful clouds.

Our first stop was the First Landing state park.

It was small and it told the same stories we heard at Jamestown.

Aren't those chairs cool? Anyway, our main purpose was to see the actual landing spot, so we decided to walk up to the beach.

The water was so beautiful!!

Then we were back on the road.

We hadn't been traveling long when we stopped at a red light. Suddenly we were slammed from behind, not once, but twice. A guy with a 5th wheel hit the back of our rental. I called 911 and it wasn't long before we had a police officer on the scene. The damage wasn't horrible...

Still...

We decided to continue our plans and take a drive up the coastal highway to our hotel in Rehoboth. It's crazy how narrow the island is!

While we were driving, I mentioned to my sweetie that I really wanted to try oysters while we were still near the Chesapeake. So he took me to a raw oyster bar. We got a great deal! Oysters were $1 each and wings were 75 cents.

The water was beautiful and it wasn't long before we were checking into our hotel.

Tomorrow, we get to see the grandkids!
