Gratitude Poster

Drama Queen has the most amazing ideas!

A couple of weeks ago she hung this huge poster on the wall so all of us could spend the month of November remembering to be grateful for those we love, different foods, activities, simple things like heat and indoor plumbing.

Each family member is encouraged to add to it any time they think of something.

It is right in our entry way and obvious to everyone. In fact, when Lil Sis was up on Saturday to make a pinewood derby car for the big race next week, her kids all took a turn adding a few more things.

Gratitude is so important for all of us!

Down Day

Today was a nice down day. My sweetie had the day off and he managed to get a bunch of yardwork done and he fixed my printer! I try not to nag him about things, so when I ask for anything he worries and stresses about it until it is done.

I ran errands and chased kids around. My little ones received free kid's meal coupons for Reflections this year from Texas Roadhouse and fortunately, that is the same place Beauty and The Beast bought a gift card for my sweetie for his birthday. That made for a fun and early dinner for most of us.

You guys are awesome!!

Then we came home and watched the Bingham game on streaming so we didn't have to freeze in the bleachers or pay the big bucks to get in. They won as usual. I hope that holds true for Curly's team tomorrow as they play for their championship.

Other than that, we have a million things to do tomorrow and I'm tired already...

Happy Birthday, Bossy!

It's after midnight now, but Wednesday, November 1st was Bossy's 33rd birthday. Can I really be this old?

We celebrated with the family on Sunday and I didn't even think to take pics when we cut the cake or when she opened her gifts. I bought her a new coat and it was the wrong size...

I even forgot that our dear Home Teacher, Bob, was coming over to share the ghost story with the kids. That has been a tradition since we moved into our house over 23 years ago. We sure love having him be part of our family.

Bossy's birthday always gets pushed back to the Sunday prior since the Dog Walker also has a birthday this week. He has the day off from work and we are going to dinner with him, Cat Lover, and her parents on Saturday. Maybe then we can firm up a few of these wedding ideas and turn them into actual wedding plans.

But I digress...

This was a post about Bossy. Happy birthday, dear daughter. You are a brave soul to offer to be the oldest of this bunch. Love you to pieces. (PS, you did a great job with the broccoli ghost...)

Happy Halloween

How was your Halloween? We had so much fun!

Drama Queen and I took Twizlet with us to the Costume Parade this morning at the elementary school. It was crazy as usual. There were so many people! I'm sure the fire marshal never expected us to have that many people crammed into one room...

So serious (and such a bad pic, sorry)

It's hard to get them to stop and pose.

After that we spent a relatively quiet afternoon. Drama Queen went to work and Twizlet and I took a short nap. We made a trip to the grocery store and it wasn't long before the kids were coming home and we were getting ready for trick-or-treaters.

The Dog Walker went across the valley to pick up the Cat Lover and the two of them had a great time out trick-or-treating and showing off her beautiful engagement ring to all the neighbors. The kids are thinking March is a great time to get married.

Spring ahead...
Fall back

Teach and Twiz took the kids around the neighborhood until Twizlet fell asleep and then I guess they felt a little guilty taking more candy. I chased around picking up the grandkids and dropping Sport off at a friend's house. The traffic was terrible; maybe even worse than at the Costume Parade. When I finally got back to the house, we made Hawaiian haystacks for dinner so the kids actually wanted to eat something besides candy.

The Dog Walker is outside taking his display down even as I'm typing this for you. After all, it is fifteen minutes after midnight and Halloween is over for another year.
