Playing in the Band

Thursday was a big day for Curly and also the beginning of the concert season. Curly has been playing the clarinet for a couple of years now and he enjoys being in the Advanced Elementary Band so he can play more difficult songs.

Curly is just to the right of the girl in the Santa hat.
But then Bossy decided she wanted to play the tenor sax in the West Jordan Concert Band. I don't think he had ever seen that beautiful, black instrument that we bought for Bossy when she was in high school and a super band geek. She was on Band Council and everything which helped her earn an academic scholarship to Snow College and her Music scholarship that paid for her housing and books. It was a sweet deal for such a talented girl!

Discovered this random pic of my cute photographer.

But I digress...

Curly decided that he wanted to play the alto sax so he could eventually play that beautiful tenor. That meant starting over in beginning band and he wasn't really anxious to do that, so he stay in advanced band playing the clarinet and beginning band with the alto. The takes him to band four mornings a week at 7:30AM.

He doesn't always like getting up early, but he does love making music and anything worthwhile has a cost associated. Besides, ever noticed how many cute girls there are in the band? Curly does...

Wow, that is admirable that he would stay in both bands. A fantastic boy, Curly, hugs for him!
