Last year, before COVID-19 hit, we spent many happy hours using our membership to take the kids and grandkids to see the animals. Now that things are opening back up, we were excited to contine that tradition.

Hogle Zoo
Although Teach and Twiz left town a few days ago to head back to New Jersey, I still want to tell you about our trip to Hogle Zoo.

Happy Car Day to Meš¶
It seems like my life has been incredibly crazy this last week or so, and one change that became necessary was getting rid of my car. We have had a gray SUV since I wrapped my white Lexus around a tree in December 2019. It has caused me nothing but trouble.
After pouring thousands of dollars into it, my sweetie finally found me a car that we both liked. It's not new, but it is a 2014 Buick.

Traveling Together - Spring Break at Utah Field House of Natural History
Before we left the beautiful city of Vernal, Utah, we had one more stop to make, the Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum. It has a big name because this place is massive!!
Princess and I sat in the gallery with a full-sized allosaurus skeleton. Until I actually saw one, I had no idea how big they were.
We started out with a short movie in the little theater. Because of COVID-19, it was mostly our family, which is good, because my little grandsons asked SO many questions!!
After we left the theater, we moved into the interactive children's area. The kids loved this area, but I think the walk-through cave was their favorite. They even made me stoop down and go through. (That was Scout in the pic.)
We walked through several more bone exhibits until we reached the exit for the outside garden. It was really windy so Princess and I stayed inside with Dutchess while my sweetie took the kids outside to see the life-sized dinosaur figures.

We couldn't leave without hitting the gift shop, and these purple shirts were definitely my favorite!

Traveling Together - Spring Break at Dinosaur National Monument
We got up early so we could grab breakfast before heading the 20 minutes or so from our hotel to the Dinosaur National Monument. While the adults were getting ready, we had all the little guys in our room playing with our bag of stuffed animals from our previous vacations. They were so cute! That might have to be a new tradition.
When everyone was ready, we loaded up and headed out. Our first stop was the Visitor's Center and the gift shop. The kids were so excited! It was easy to join in. We decided to let each of the little ones choose a plush dinosaur to help them remember how much fun we had. Then we all crawled back in the cars and headed for the Quarry.Like the museum in St. George, the Quarry is an actual fossil site in the side of the mountain, enclosed by walls to make a viewing area. The ranger was very patient with all of our questions and she clearly had a passion for teaching the kids because she told them all about the measuring devices, the fossils, and the history of the Quarry. After we left her station, we discovered several little areas for the kids that are interactive. My favorite was the large bench in the shape of a dinosaur bone!Plenty of time and lots of questions later, the kids were ready for lunch, so we packed them all back in and headed to the hotel for sandwiches. Our sightseeing was only half over...
