Heading into More Craziness

Pics of Sport from the 2013 season.
Oh man.

I got Scout's practice schedule for softball tonight and it gave me a tiny glimpse of what my spring might be. If she has practices clear out in Herriman three days a week, what in the world will my calendar look like after the boys have their baseball tryouts on Saturday?

After church I was feeling the affects of Daylight Savings Time so I was sleeping when Bossy called me about 4:30 and asked me if we wanted to join them in a quick game of softball before Bean Dip had to return to his mom. It took me an hour before she called again and I finally got the kids rounded up.

He has grown so much since then!
We met them at the field for a quick game of workup. I'm really glad that Scout had that opportunity because her first practice is tomorrow and she is off and running. I'm not even sure we know where all the equipment got put after last season.

At least the Dog Walker is off from school this week for spring break. Maybe we can get a little better organized.

Some choose to be organized...some have organization thrust upon them.

New Addition

Teach and Twiz have added a new member to their little family. Meet Abigail.

She is 9 weeks old and super cute. I hope she doesn't grow much because their apartment is pretty small. Honestly, I don't envy them the task of puppy training.

Or the chewing.

Or the barking.

Last time we got a dog we stayed away from the puppy stage. I guess it's just me. We love it when our part time dogs come to visit, in fact, they just went home on Thursday after 4 days with us. But I was pretty annoyed when Watson vomited on my kitchen floor while the Dog Walker was at class. Oh no, not by the poor sweet puppy, just by the fact that I had to be in charge of the clean up.

You've got to admit that this little girl is cute though. And my own little girls would absolutely love one just like her...

...until she vomited on the floor. Any guesses who would be in charge of cleanup?

Crafty's Solo

My sweet Crafty did her first solo dance competition today. I have to confess that I accidentally signed her up in the advanced lyrical group when at 15 she should have been in the intermediate. She placed 3rd, but her marks were amazing for her first try. There were 3 judges and she received a 92, 93, and a 92.5.

She also received this gigantic trophy. I'm so proud of her for putting it all on the line. She has grown up so much over the past couple of years. She has always been painfully shy and dance has been the one way she has been able to open up and share a part of herself.

Her scores were good and some of the judges even wrote her notes so she can work on making herself an even better soloist when she goes to the prestigious Aspire competition next month.

Great job, Crafty!

Newsflash: Princess's engagement is off

Looking Forward to the Weekend

It's been so nice to have a bit of a down week. I still have the basketball tournament this weekend and our team will be playing tomorrow night. If we win we will have another game on Saturday morning.

I have almost all of the Girl Scout cookies delivered now and I even managed to sell most of our gluten-free cookies to another troop. But Bossy still has some extras so I guess we are going to set up a booth on Saturday. If our team plays, she will have to do most of it without me. I'm sure she can get Drama Queen to help her. Our scheduled time is from 9:00 - 12:00 at the WalMart Market on 9800 and Bangerter. So stop by and say hello if you live close by. I'm hoping a couple of hours will be long enough to sell everything extra.

Scout and Crafty have a dance competition this weekend, so they will be busy most of the day. I sometimes try to get to one competition a year. They are so expensive and I hate paying $10 to see 3 minutes of performing. I'm also committed to attend the one up at Weber in April, so I probably won't go to this one.

Tonight Bossy and I ran down to the Cindy Lane building and committed to having our boys sell Scouting Expo tickets in April. Then I dropped her off and we agreed to meet a bit later at the library for their craft night. The kids enjoyed making St. Patrick's Day bracelets and cards. I wanted to take some pics for you, but my phone was nearly dead so you will have to settle for these taken after we got home.

I'm glad they moved baseball tryouts to the 19th, but the boys were all freaking out about the fact that they will be held at the high school inside the gym. I'm sure they will be very different from what we have seen in past years. I'm going to have 4 kids playing ball this spring and Bossy will have 5. I could literally spend every weekday evening at the park and still not see half the games.

Fortunately, we have a few more weeks before that craziness begins. Then I can guarantee there won't be any down weeks.
