Grandpa's Pumpkin Patch

Today was the day that we have been working toward for quite some time. Our 2nd Annual Grandpa's Pumpkin Patch party! I started making a big batch of chili yesterday using fresh vegetables from my sweetie's garden and I visited the store for the rest of the stuff I needed.

This morning dawned bright and early when Scout and I dropped Baby Doll at the airport at 5:30 AM (but I will let Baby Doll tell that story). I took care of my sweetie, carefully shooting the antibiotics through his picc line. Then we left for church.

About halfway through sacrament meeting, my sweetie texted me a pic of his stitches. They were draining an ugly yellow pus like crazy. I found someone to do my job in the Nursery and then I headed for home. Scout took us to the main hospital ER where we waited for hours before anyone decided this was a big deal.

.

Then my sweetie was admitted and a procedure is scheduled for tomorrow to reopen the wound and rewash the shoulder.

Meanwhile, back at the house, I insisted that the party go on. Our grandkids needed their pumpkins grown specially for them by Grandpa!

So lots of pics for you since we needed lots for us.

Looks like a great party!! Thanks everyone!

Halloween Dinowalk

Tonight I took the opportunity to slip away with the kids and take a ride to Ogden. Bossy had purchased tickets to the Halloween Dinowalk a month ago and the littles were excited to go. She even bought headlamps for all of us.

Lots of pics for you. Such a good time.

One of our favorite moments was Burrito playing the part of a beached shark in the sand on the playground.

Enjoy!

Homecoming 2022

I'm sorry, I can't believe how far behind I am! But I really wanted to tell you about Homecoming. As you know, it is Taco's senior year; Scout is a junior, Burrito is a sophomore, and Curly is a freshman (but this is not really a story about him, it is just an interesting fact.

But I digress...

So two Saturdays ago (the day my sweetie got sick), was the Homecoming dance. None of the kids really wanted to go, but Bossy and I took my girls for haircuts. Then we decided to go dress shopping. Pretty soon, we had a crazy plan.

Burrito and Taco could take Scout and Baby Doll to the dance!

I know, Baby Doll is pretty young for such an endeavor, but because they were going as a group and because they were all family, we thought they could have a great time. So I bought dresses and shoes and flowers.

Bossy bought ties and more flowers and tickets; she shared all of her Chick-fil-A points with the kids so they could get their dinner for free. (Unfortunately, the dining room was closed, so they got to eat in the car...) And Beauty was their amazing photographer. (Thanks for always being willing!)

They had tons of fun and then they came back to our house for brownie sundaes.

It was the perfect date... except that it sort of wasn't.

What do you think, good idea? Bad idea?

Last Football Game of the Season

Tonight was Curly's last football game playing as  a freshman for Bingham. They even let him play Center.

So proud...
