It's funny, even though all of these other crazy things are swirling around us, like Dog Walker's wedding, Princess's baby, Cat Woman's baby, remodel of the basement; life doesn't stop. There are still basketball games and practices (in some ways, busier than football season!), dance, school ... and one of the biggest, if not THE biggest ... Girl Scout Cookie sales!!
I was just looking at the Tuacahn schedule and the girls want to go to Prince of Egypt. That means they better sell a pile of cookies! The cheapest tickets are $29.00 although I'm thinking we will try to go on a preview day when we can get them at a good discount.
So please, when my girls come to your door this weekend, I would be so grateful if you would support them in their endeavors and buy lots of cookies!

Learning New Things - The Bouquet
I have an incredibly talented daughter! Well, I have quite a few incredibly talented daughters, but I want to tell you about just one of them today. Last week, the Dog Walker was fitted with a tux for the big day and he brought that tux home so they could do some bridal pics.
The Cat Lover is supposed to have her final fitting tomorrow and then this weekend they are planning to pose for a photographer. They didn't want to pay for an extra live bouquet since they are so expensive, so Drama Queen ran out to Hobby Lobby and in about an hour she had a gorgeous bouquet that is not quite the real thing, but pretty close.
She even sent Prima Donna back for some foam and when it was the wrong size, she improvised and made it work anyway. So proud of her for teaching herself all kinds of things. She loves learning and if she doesn't know how to do something, she uses Google or YouTube until she has figured it out.
I need to get better about wanting to learn new things again. Right now it seems to be taking all my energy just to focus on remembering the things I already know.

The Invitation
I'm just so excited about the invitations that I have to show you the back! Drama Queen does such a good job, sometimes I think she should go into graphic design. Or maybe wedding planning... I hear she can make big bucks there (not that she charges me anything).
It has been another crazy weekend trying to get the room finished for the Dog Walker and eventually his wife, to move into in the basement. There is so much to be done, sometimes it seems impossible! But I know the only way to eat an elephant is a bite at a time, so we just keep on chewing...

Princess's First Baby Shower
I think I told you we are planning to do a baby shower for Princess next week, and today was the day her mother-in-law had chosen to do one for her in Utah County. We hustled through our basketball games this morning so we could get there by 11:00. Bossy drove us in my car which gave me a chance to repair a bra for Teach. It was a new one she had purchased online and one of the clasps was on it backwards! The repair wasn't too bad, just annoying when they cost so much anyway.
But I digress...
I wanted to tell you about Princess's shower. We were a few minutes early and the first ones there. It was fun to get reacquainted with The Frog's family. They had lots of yummy treats and the "bow tie" theme... bow tie pasta, bow tie sugar cookies, bow tie decorations and treats.
I really liked the game they chose; it was bingo with the gifts. As Princess opened each one, we could cross something off on our Bingo card. I got the first Bingo (and a prize!). Poor Baby Doll, she had possible Bingos 3 different ways and just couldn't manage to win until there were only 2 gifts left and then they called "bedding" when Princess opened a set of sheets. Baby Doll was so excited! We were all relieved that her constant questions were finally over...
A couple of hours after it began, the shower was over and after hugs all around, we headed for the door and the long drive home. Guess it's time to start preparing for our own shower next week. Unfortunately, my house is a construction zone right now. The guys have totally gutted the girls' room to make an apartment for the Dog Walker and Cat Lover and today they ripped up all the carpet in the utility room so we could finally put the tile down after almost 25 years. It's been an interesting week.
