It's Almost Soccer Time!!

Remember back in the good ol' days when Scout and Curly did a week-long soccer camp? Can you believe that was 2018? Pre-COVID; Curly was so...SHORT! But they both had so much fun!

My kids are/were all pretty athletic, so it is no surprise that this trait was also passed along to the next generation. When US Family Guide approached me about sending another kid to a Challenger Soccer Camp, I just couldn't resist. I called Bossy...

Challenger does an amazing camp for big and little kids alike. All three of my younger kids have had multiple opportunities to hone their soccer skills and learn a little British lore on the side.

Take a few minutes to look through their website and find a camp that will work. You can still catch a deal with early bird pricing including a free soccer ball and t-shirt.

Tell them Sandy at twelvemakesadozen sent you.

Your kids will love getting outside and enjoying the summer sun. Mine did.

Crafty Graduates

Even though the bleachers were uncomfortable, it was a beautiful moment when Crafty walked across the stage in the Marriott Center Convocation to receive her batchelors degree in Neuroscience. Her boyfriend, B, also graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering.

So very proud!

Traveling Together - Going Home

We had planned to leave after the last games, but there was a huge oil spill that shut down the freeway, so that kept us in Las Vegas one more night.

So we got up early and got on the road. We had a long way to go!

I hadn't planned to drive, but my sweetie wasn't feeling it, so in North Las Vegas I climbed behind the wheel. I am not a long distance driver, but I was really proud of myself for driving all the way to St George.

Then my sweetie drove to Beaver where we stopped at a Dennys for dinner. I was not impressed. My potatoes were way too salty.

My sweetie drove to Nephi, but then it was my turn again and I drove the rest of the way home.

I was so tired!

Time to start a new week and it is already half over...

Traveling Together - Last Day of the Tournament

We had an early morning meeting with the folks from Hilton and then we took off for the tournament. Parking was awful! Thankfully, my sweetie's ADA tag got us a place in a "full" lot.

Baby Doll played a great game, but it wasn’t quite enough.

When we got back to the hotel, we decided to try out the pool and hot tub. The pool was too cold, but the hot tub was just right.

Tomorrow we head for home.

Traveling Together - Day 2

Day 2 of Baby Doll's volleyball tournament was very much like the first day. They played three sets, winning one and losing the other two. But they were all close.

She was amazing!! One of her teammate gave out Easter socks and bunny ears.

We spent the rest of the evening just hanging out at our condo. It was nice.

Traveling Together - First Day of Tournaments

The games were in the Convention Center. It was huge! Parking and traffic were insane, but it all worked out eventually. Soon we were settled in to watch Baby Doll and her team go to work.

They did great! They beat 2 of the 3 teams they played and advanced to the North Hall. After the games, we met up with the team for dinner at a Mexican place.

After dinner we met up in a park for some family fun games.

After that, she went swimming with her friends at the Grandview. I picked her up about 10pm and then it was straight to bed. Early games tomorrow...

Traveling Together - Las Vegas

We reached Las Vegas around 1:00pm. That gave us 2 hours minimum before we could check into our condo, so we decided to grab some lunch. We stopped at the Blueberry Hill Diner. The food was huge! Way too much for one meal, so we deposited leftover boxes in our newly acquired refrigerator.

Baby Doll and I left to go bowling with the team.

We were both aweful!

We said goodbye to the team and picked up my sweetie for an HGV member dinner.

The food was free, so we boxed it up and took it with us. More boxes in the fridge...

Volleyball games start tomorrow!!

Traveling Together - Cedar City

So my sweetie, Baby Doll, and I climbed in the car and hit the road. There was a good deal of planning and packing that happened first. Our family is in charge of lunch and snacks for the team on the first day.

We hit various gas stations as we rolled along. Baby Doll pointed out these super cool clouds

They were literally sitting on the ground!

We got to our hotel early enough to swim, but Baby Doll was tired.

I really think this is the first time in recorded history that she really didn’t want to swim.

She finally joined me.

The pool was actually warm!! But I only lasted a couple of minutes before I climbed in the hot tub.

The sunset was so beautiful, but this pic doesn't do it justice.

On to our next destination tomorrow.

King of Kings, The Movie

What can I say? They did a beautiful job with this movie. The kids had a great time and Dog Walker had his first date since his divorce!!
