Traveling Together - Williston to Dickinson

Sunday was so fun!! We got to church early so Sport could talk to people before the meeting started.

He has so many friends in the Williston 4th ward! One couple who is very kind to the missionaries offered to feed lunch to our whole group. They made a very delicious gumbo and we had banana splits and a lot of visiting for dessert.

We got on the road after visiting with a few more people. One family gave him a warm loaf of banana bread. It didn’t last very long.

It was time to get moving. We wanted to see the Theodore Roosevelt National Park, but mostly the Badlands. It worked out well since they were on our way to Dickinson.

We saw a herd of bison.

The Badlands of North Dakota are beautiful.

We arrived at Dickinson and ate sandwiches for dinner. The kids are being so good about eating out of the cooler.

Another adventure tomorrow.

Traveling Together - Billings to Williston

The drive from Billings to Williston, North Dakota was just under 6 hours. We stopped in Sidney, ate lunch, and played at a park. The kids needed a break.

We bought a frisbee and a boomerang. That got them out of the car and moving for half an hour or so.

Williston was Sport's area with the most friends. We are all excited to attend his previous ward there.

When we finally arrived, we checked in at the hotel and Sport went visiting for a while. Then we all went to dinner at Lonnie's.

We caught a beautiful sunset on our way back to the hotel.

Now for sleep...

Mother's Day Weekend - part 2

We got to Star Valley about 5:00. The little log cabins were so cute!

They had some amazing features!

Unfortunately, only Curly got a chance to enjoy our tub.

It was nearly dark when the kiddos in Sport's vehicle caught up to us. After we ate chicken and rolls in the room, we piled in the van and headed for darkness.

We finally found some dark at the cemetery...and we weren't the only ones there.

The stars were beautiful, but we couldn't see any color, so we created our own with Bossy's homemade light sabers.

We finally put away the sabers and started watching the skies. They still looked pretty dark, but Crafty used a long exposure and she got some light colors.

We stayed until about midnight, hoping we might see something with the naked eye, but we didn't.

We got a little sleep and got up for breakfast and church. We wanted to drive into Afton so we could attend church in Dr Pead's ward.

His church was right next door to the Star Valley Wyoming Temple.

It was so good to see him! Did you remember that he delivered 9 of my babies and most of Bossy's? He retired a few years ago.

After church, we checked out and headed for home. Such a fun and crazy trip!!

Traveling Together - Winning the Bracket

We got up before 6:30 am and headed into Reno. Baby Doll's first set started at 8:00 and we didn't want to be late.

They won the first set...then the second set...

It was time for the championship bracket. Only one more set!

They won their bracket!!!!

After pics, we got Baby Doll's stuff from the team van so we could take her with us back to Lake Tahoe. She was fascinated with the lake, all 45° of it!

The girls played on the shore for about 45 minutes.

Then my sweetie made us an incredible dinner and we had a dance party on the deck until it started to rain.

This day was so amazing
