I was born and raised in small-town Utah. I graduated from high school and Snow College in 1983 and married my sweetie that same summer. We moved to Salt Lake City and enrolled at the University of Utah. We left the U and headed back to Ephraim to complete their Electronics program. Our oldest was born there. After graduating yet again from Snow College, we returned to Salt Lake where I finished my BA in English at the U while my hubby worked for an electronics engineering group as a technician.
Then, we moved to Logan so that he could earn a degree in electrical engineering while I worked on a Masters degree in Literature at Utah State University. Baby #2 was born about halfway through. We finished school in 1988 and moved into the work force. I spent 10 years as a technical writer while teaching English part time for Columbia College. My sweetie moved through the ranks at various jobs. In 1998, I finally wanted to quit working. I was pregnant with my 7th child. I had worked for 5 years from my home so that I could stay with the kids, but by then all I really wanted to do was be a mom.
Other babies followed and older kids grew up and moved out. My oldest daughter married in 2004 and my oldest son in 2014. A typical family gathering includes my husband and me, our 12 children, one daughter-in-law, one son-in-law, four grandchildren, and my dad. I have very little spare time, but I enjoy sports, sewing, scouts, reading, and working with kids. I am an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I always wanted to write a book, but writing this blog might be the only way it ever happens.
