Guest Blog: Funeral Plans by the Dog Walker

I think Mom has been asking me to guest blog for her, just because she's still tired after grieving over my dad's passing. Even I have been grieving over it as well. I called in from work that day my dad died, just because I only get three days of bereavement for the year. Anyway, throughout that day, Beauty and The Beast came by to help mom with the funeral plans, like assigning pallbearers, and The Beast was assigned to write and then read the obituary. Mom will tell you all about that when it's ready. We were glad that Beauty stopped by to fill in the papers and to learn more about Dad's family history. This picture is me holding the stuffed Leo lion that was given to Dad. I thought of it as a way of remembering him by.

The funeral will be held on the 10th of September, the day of their 42nd wedding anniversary. Mom's glad that she had not only been married to Dad in this life, but also sealed for eternity. So someday, she'll see him again, as well as all the rest of us.

He's Gone

My sweetie passed away early this morning.

He was at home, in a hospital bed in our living room. He had so many friends and family members visit in his final days.  Thank you so much for being patient with me through this journey. I have been mostly silent as I have tried to process this huge change in my life, but I want you all to know that while I am sad, I know that God has a plan for us and a new mission for my sweetie. It is not my plan, but His is always better and I am willing to accept and hopefully even embrace this change.

I will post his obituary soon. I love you all and appreciate your support over the last 14 years.

I love you forever, Sweetie! 💔

Guest Blog: Things Have Gotten Worse by the Dog Walker

Mom asked me to guest blog again, probably because she's still feeling overwhelmed with knowing about how Dad's doing. Ever since Dad came home from the hospital and put into a hospice bed, he was able to move around for a little while to use his walker to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately, as the cancer has taken its toll, Dad is now stuck in his hospice bed. We knew this was coming, and that Dad will be going up to heaven soon, but we've been really grateful to cherish some everlasting moments with Dad before this moment. For a few days, a lot of members from Dad's side of the family have been coming to visit him and Crafty and Craftsman have been recording a lot of Dad's fascinating stories to help us remember him by. For right now until then, we're helping Dad with some bed adjustments and even some feeding routines to help him prosper. We're really going to miss him soon, especially when it'll be hard to say goodbye, but we'll always remember him and the things he taught us. We believe that he will be glad that he raised us to become strong and willing to help others in need, just like he helped us whenever we needed him.
