Busy Weekend

I've spent the last two days watching my amazing Baby Doll play volleyball in a tournament in North Salt Lake. She did a great job even though things didn't turn out the way we all hoped they would. I have some pics for you from Friday's games. They took first place in their pool play!

Sorry, some are a bit blurry. My camera doesn't move as fast as she does.

Happy Saturday!!

Ebbs and Flows

You know, they say that grief ebbs and flows, and this week has been a tidal wave. It probably started with delivering cookies. Some of these friends that I don't see very often, were unaware of my sweetie's passing. That led to sharing the experience over and over and over again.

Then there are the dreams...

Even though most of the time I understand why he was taken, I still miss him so much!

Please continue to pray for peace for me and my family.

Guest Blog: March Birthday Party by the Dog Walker

Mom asked me to blog for her, because she's tired from delivering Girl Scout cookies and getting more to deliver for the season. Besides that, she's been making some chicken enchiladas for today's Family Birthday Party for March. The birthday people for this month were Polliwog, Little Squire, and Craftsman. It was also Scout's friend K's birthday as well. For this month's theme, we did all food in green in honor of St Patrick's Day coming up. For me, I  did something that was in honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday this month. That's right! Green eggs and Ham! Everyone brought other good greens to share, like Princess's signature pistachio salad.

Mom mostly liked cuddling with Bossy's baby daughter, Bright Eyes. She's quite precious. Mom enjoyed being back east spending time with Drama Queen, Teach, and her family, especially her Twinzee1 and Twinzee2. Mom loves snuggling with these sweet babies and making them coo and smile.

After almost everyone left, Bossy and her family stayed a little longer to share family stories. Lately, I've been coming up with ideas for next birthday potluck themes for the months. So I nominated Bossy to have an idea for April's theme. We're looking forward to it, as well as Easter. Here's more pictures from the party.

Traveling as Two - Back in New Jersey

Saturday was a traveling day. We left Washington DC about 11:00 and drove straight through to Sicklerville. We did run into a bit of fog, but Scout was a pro behind the wheel.

We wanted as much time as possible with the fan.

Teach and I took the kids to church on Sunday and then we hung out until it was time for Teach to take us to the airport.

The sky at the airport in Philly was amazing!!

And so was the sky over Salt Lake City.

Oh, I miss them so much already!!

Traveling as Two - Smithsonian

Today was our last full day in Washington DC, so we decided to visit one of the Smithsonian museums. We ultimately decided on the American History museum.

It wasn't busy, so we were able to see everything we wanted to see.

We had a great time and we called our Uber just before 5:00.

Back at the hotel, we decided to soak in the hot tub for a while.

We decides we wanted to try some regional food, so Scout used her Uber Eats app to order from a nearby Turkish restaurant.

It was definitely interesting. I'm not sure I would buy it again, but it was edible.

We leave for New Jersey in the morning. Not long before we are home.

Traveling as Two - Washington DC

Scout wasn't feeling well this mornin, so we stayed at the hotel for most of the day. I watched way too much Food Network.

We had already bought two passes for a DC night tour of the monuments, so she perked up a little and we caught an Uber that dropped us at the Archives building.

Now I'm just going to share all the beautiful pics Scout took for us. The tour was 3 hours and we had a great time.

And that, my friends, shows the talent of my amazing Scout. Oh, and the fantastic memorials of Washingtonn DC
