The DDR master.
So I told you yesterday that we would talk about Scout's birthday party. There were six of us, Scout, Princess, Crafty. Baby Doll, K, and me. We left for Logan right after Curly's football banquet. So we got in late; about 10:00pm. Princess and Crafty came up earlier, so they were all set up.
The girls played a game while I slept.
We got up in the morning and had hotel breakfast. The girls wanted to swim.
The girls made gift bags and bento boxes to share. The whole weekend was Wicked themed. Three of us were green and and three pink.
We ate lunch in the roon and played games and did crafts. K had prepared some really fun things for us. Scout loves books and Yahtzee, so K had us paint books that were Yahtzee cups.
These are Crafty's.
Then it was time for Swig and their special themed drinks.
Then we did dinner at Mo'bettas.
Princess did these cute hoodies and Baby Doll designed the logo.
Popcorn was glittered!
Time for the movie!!
We only had 5 of our 8 scouts today and that was plenty for the activity we were doing. First, each girl made their own cheese ball. This required 8 oz of sharp white cheddar, and 16 oz of cream cheese plus some spices. Even with 4 bowls for the mixer, it was taking forever!
Scout finally went upstairs and pulled her mixer out of storage. That helped, and soon all of the girls had their cheese balls in the fridge. Not everyone wanted nuts, but that was the next steps. I quickly put the halved nuts in the food processor and the girls spread them on the gold chargers I bought yesterday at the dollar store.
They pulled their wrapped cheese balls out of the fridge and rolled them about in their chopped nuts. Then they used pretzels, sweet bell peppers, and more nuts to transform their ball into a turkey. I have a few pics I want to share with you.
I was surprised how good the cheese ball was with sweet peppers!
Girl Scouts is such a great program. We get to pick our activities and teach the girls new skills.
So much fun! And yummy too.
About 4:30 - Scout points out that Princess has 2 tickets for the Hale in PG.
Did we want to go? So I reached out to Princess and happily claimed her tickets. Then Baby Doll wanted to go, so I offered to stay home, but the girls insisted I see if there were any available tickets.
We were able to buy a child's ticket just a couple of rows back. Which is crazy because there were only 2 seats available in the whole house! After intermission, the girls wanted to move up by me and the 2 ladies sitting next to me were happy to switch.
Such a fun night out!
Thanks, Princess and The 🐸!
A couple of weeks ago, I looked back on a Facebook post that Drama Queen posted about one fun Halloween activity and the fun costumes that we dressed up in. Back in 2015, I remember that I was dressed up like Bing Bong and Baby Doll was dressed up like Sadness from the movie Inside Out. Drama Queen was even dressed up as Joy, but she didn't post the picture of herself in that costume. The other kids, like Crafty was dressed up as a Bollywood version of Tangled Rapunzel. Scout was dressed as Mal from Descendants and Curly was dressed up as a football player. So here's the little blast from the past of Halloween. I sure miss those times. They always fly by, but at least they're never forgotten.
Dog Walker's birthday was on Tuesday, so we just had to celebrate! I gave him some gifts to open. Most of them were practical and not very fun. He is always a gracious receiver, but there was no question which one he liked best.
Scout met us at Chuck-a-Rama after work and Sport was up for the day, so he came too. Curly missed out because surprisingly, his girlfriend and Dog Walker are birthday twins!
We all enjoy the food and the company even though Sport had to leave quickly for a meeting he had in Provo.
Happy 32nd Birthday, Dog Walker! And many more...
Little Duchess decided she wanted to do a sport this year. She may have settled on basketball simply for the high top shoes …
She really enjoyed it though.
When she took a break during her first game, I asked her if she was having any fun. She responded, “Yes, but I’m really confused.”
But slowly she got more comfortable. During her second game, she made a buzzer shot and the whole crowd erupted in cheers. That was the only basket she made all season–even in practice. I think a few angels might have blown it in for her.
She had a blast and can’t wait to play again next year!
