Running on Empty

I'm tired.

It's been one of those weeks...

Actually it's been one of those weeks for several weeks in a row and I could sure use a break, if even just for a minute. Sometimes it seems like the only time I get to choose is when I'm sitting here at the computer taking a minute to tell you about my crazy life before I fall into bed.

Teach started her new job this week. Oh don't get me wrong, I'm very happy for her! She needs a job. I had just gotten used to having her around to off-load some of my stress. But I'm slowly getting used to the idea that I can monopolize less and less of her time.

A much happier car ride.
She has been training all week, only working 4 -5 hours each day. So today Baby Doll and I had to run up to Curves to pick up the Tupperware we left there yesterday morning for an open house. It's a nice way to sell things. I go for an hour and set things up, answer questions and leave catalogs. Then I go back the next day and pick up orders and the Tupperware. And if no one wants to talk to me, I take the time to work out while I am there.

It was about noon when Baby Doll and I were loading the van and my phone rang. It was Teach. "Mom?" she whispered. Immediately I knew something was wrong. "Can you come and get me? I'm so sick!"

Fortunately Baby Doll and I were within less than a mile of her new job. She still had an hour of training left for the day, but the minute she dragged herself across the parking lot I could tell that she was in a bad way. Sweat was pouring from her face and she could barely climb into the van.

We had gone less than a mile when she heaved. I thought Baby Doll might lose it too, but she managed to hold it together. To make a long story short, when we got home Teach
crawled into bed for several hours and when she finally emerged she was almost human again.

I just hope it was something she ate and not something I can catch. Although sometimes I wonder if that is the only way I might get a day off...

  1. Oh no! I hope Teach is feeling all better now, and that it wasn't something contagious! Nothing worse than a bug like that going from person to person!

Hope you get a few minutes to relax and rest soon, Sandy!

  2. Just when a family thinks everything is oky doky the new flu hits them one at a time, I pray it is not the flu, it is a hard strain..You need rest but not the rest you would require to kick the new flu, praying Teach is doing better and that you all will be healthy, ciao!X()

  4. Oh, I so hope that you don't get a day off by being sick. Four of my grandchildren in two different areas have the stomach flu; yuck.
I do hope you get to slow down a wee bit; you do have a very busy life.
Blessings for all you do and hugs!
