Early Egg Hunt

Bossy and her family were here by the time we got home from church since they are on the 9:00 - 12:00 schedule and we are on the 11:00 - 2:00. She was so excited about the the egg hunt! She hustled all the kids inside so they could change their clothes while she started hiding eggs. She recruited Princess and the Dog Walker to help her.

It wasn't long before the kids were lined up at the front door with their baskets waiting to gather eggs. True to fashion, we put them in age order with Baby Doll in the lead. My sweetie and I slipped out onto the porch first so we could watch all the fun and he could snap a few pictures. The last one out the door was the Gym Rat. He couldn't find a basket so he was carrying the old Easter wreath because it has a bunny holding a tiny basket and he figured he could score an egg or two with that. (He forgot that we always share everything anyway.)

Within 10 minutes everything was gathered and the kids were cracking open plastic eggs to find candy and small toys. There was even nail polish and lip gloss for the older girls. We spent the rest of the afternoon munching on Reese's eggs and eating my sweetie's delicious cooking (he even made homemade French bread! And get this, he needed to punch it down between church meetings so he brought the dough and left it in the van and then slipped out to the parking lot between classes to take care of it. Now that's dedication!). We also played a few rounds of double-deck Pinochle.

It was the perfect way to spend our last Sunday together.
