Black Friday

No, I didn't spend the day shopping; I only made one quick trip to Walgreens. My sweetie and I were watching stories from our picture galleries earlier today, so I thought it might be fun to find the oldest pic in my phone for you.

You might think I knew that my pics in this phone go back to 2011, the same year the blog was born, but I didn’t. Since the suject of this pic had a birthday last week, this one is perfect.

This is our cute little Taco. He just turned 20 and passed the one-year mark on his mission. He has not had a seizure since June, and he loves his church service mission, working in the temple and the church offices.

So proud of you, Taco!

Another Amazing Gold Girl

You have heard me talking for over a year about Scout's amazing Gold Award project, kopewithkate.com. We are so proud of all of her hard work and dedication. But we aren't the only ones. She was recently part of the Recognition of Excellence event held at the Viridian.

Happy Birthday, Scout!!

We had so much fun celebrating Scout's 19th birthday! Besides finishing up the quilts, Scout and I put on our cute hoodies Princess made for us and we headed to the theater. 

We saw Wicked and we ate lots of popcorn.

Tonight we all went to Texas Roadhouse for a birthday dinner.

We also celebrated Taco; his birthday was on Monday.

Crazy Busy Friday

Today reminded me of the good ole days when things were crazy busy and I loved it. Now I just get tired so easy.

I got up early (must still be getting used to the time change...) and hit the ground running. I had to finish piecing one more quilt, but I couldn’t start on that until a few more things got done. I had to do a grocery order so I had what I needed for scouts. Then it was paying bills and stuff.

Finally, I made it to the craftroom, but my laundry pile just kept calling my name so I started a batch. Then I pieced a quilt from start to finish.

Nate brought up a bag of frozen chili; I figured I would have to feed dinner to Bossy's family as well.

I cleaned up the kitchen and got ready for my girl scouts to make pies. We  had a lot of fun. Each girl made 2 pies, one apple  and one pumpkin. Bossy taught them how to draw while we waited for the pies to cook. I cleaned up the kitchen. The girls didn't leave until 6:00.

I started setting up the quilts. Long story short, we got the tree skirt and matching quilt tied and one of Bridger's for his Eagle project. Just 2 more to go.

I'm tired!!

Traveling as Two - Bowling Green

Saturday was our last day of the trip and my sweetie really wanted to tour the Corvette Museum (advertised by our hotel) before we left town. That meant being there close to 9:00am when they opened. So we got up early (this is a disturbing trend...), had breakfast and checked out of the hotel by 8:45.

We arrived at the museum just like we planned.

We enjoyed the museum, but when we were finished, we quickly climbed in the car and got back on the road. We still had an hour-long drive to Nashville and we didn't want to miss our flight.

After we finally got through airport security, we went to the Delta Sky Club for lunch. This soup was my favorite.

It wasn't long before we were back on the airplane, heading home.

Oh, and now that I've given Crafty the stocking I finally finished for her, I can show it to you.

Lots of work and lots of fun, just like going on vacation.
