Dear Teach,
Things are going crazy around here!!
The Dog Walker received his mission call on Tuesday and the bishop asked him to speak and have his “farewell” on Sunday. There is really no time for invitations or to notify family or make arrangements or anything. I sent out text messages and I think I will try an electronic invitation tomorrow. Problem is, I’m having a hard time typing… well, it is basketball season after all… I broke my left pinky finger last night. It’s making me a little slow.
We made a copy of his call so you could see it. It’s not quite the same as yours, but cool anyway. He will be set apart on Sunday at 6:00 and begin his missionary work at the Special Needs Seminary on Tuesday. After that we will arrange to go to the temple. It probably won’t happen until February. I’ll keep you posted.
I’m recovering pretty well from being sick. Just can’t seem to get the energy levels up. That probably won’t happen until I get more exercise and I’m too tired for Curves. It’s a vicious cycle. But I’m planning to give it a try on Friday maybe and Monday for sure.
Cookie sales start Saturday. Trying to get my head around the training. Crafty finished her Silver Award and Prima Donna finished her YW Medallion. School is upon the Dog Walker and me like an avalanche. We are just trying to get a rhythm before the mission starts.
Now Princess just came in and announced that she wants to go to Sweethearts. Ahhhhhggggg!
I’d better try to get some sleep. We have a basketball game for real tomorrow and I’m going to need energy for that. I wish you were here to play with us. Your rebounding might keep me from breaking any more fingers.
Love and miss you,
Mom
Hooray for Dog Walker! Can't wait to hear more about that (I'm hoping?) later! And so many other exciting things--yw medallion, silver award, COOKIE SALES (can't wait to hunt down my local Girl Scouts!!). So sorry to hear about your finger though! Church ball can be brutal!!
ReplyDeleteHope you are feeling better with your broken finger..Congrats upon Dog Walkers call to serve..if only other parents would have their children do the Mission for their religion, juvenile justice centers would be empty and prisons too..Your kids are healthy, happy, spiritual and obedient to you and your Husband..What a lovely family. God will heal you soon and your son will enjoy doing his Mission for your church and God..Congratulations to you and your husband too! and Dog Walker too..X()X()X():):):):):
ReplyDeleteWill the dog walker leave town too?
ReplyDeleteNo. Because of his autism, he is serving a church service mission. He will stay in the valley, continue going to school, and serve at two different special needs seminaries. He is starting with 8 hours/week which is the minimum and will increase his service as his schoolwork lightens up. He will serve for one year. We are so proud of him!

Oh my, I am exhausted just reading your schedule. I am sorry about your pinky finger that can be very painful. Please take care of yourself; you need more naps.
ReplyDeleteI love that your son is getting ready to go on his mission.
Our grandson just received his mission call last night. It was fun to be there for him.
Blessings and hugs!
