Today Scout had a Tea Party for a little friend having a birthday party on Saturday that Scout can't attend. That meant pink cupcakes and pink lemonade and 13 kids under the age of 10. Just as I finished making the frosting to spread over the 45 cupcakes I made last night, her mom called and said that Berkelee had strep and wouldn't be coming! But after Bossy talked with them, we had the party as planned. I hope nobody gets sick!
Tonight Teach was supposed to have some friends over to mimic our Iron Chef competition, but they switched venues at the last minute and that was fine by me! And tomorrow is my sweetie’s company party from 10:00 – 3:00. Then we have to meet at my aunt and uncle’s house for their 50th Wedding Celebration at 5:30.
On Sunday my brother and sisters are coming over to celebrate my Dad’s 76th birthday at my house. That means dinner and cake after three hours of church for roughly 30 people. Yeah, I’m tired. Oh, and in case you forgot, the Dog Walker also has a date to the Homecoming Dance tonight. I told him he had to go with me to order flowers for his date to wear on her wrist, so between the interview and the volleyball, we headed to the floral department of our local grocery store.
I learned a long time ago to avoid an actual flower shop on the day of a big dance. When Bossy was in high school, we bought a boutonniere for her date at Flower Patch. Unfortunately, so did everyone else. And even though they had extra people helping get the customers through as quickly as possible, that line out the door took nearly an hour and put us horribly behind schedule. I’ve found that the grocery store does a nice job and because they have multiple checkout stations you can get in and out in about 10 minutes.

Somewhere during the day my van window decided it didn’t want to function any more, and of course it had to get stuck in the “down” position. That gave me a nice wind-blown look, but I was worried about the rainstorm we were supposed to get today. Fortunately the mechanic was able to fit me in and at least get it put back up. Baby Doll didn’t sleep last night either, so that was a doctor’s appointment and a confirmed ear infection. Don’t forget my half-dozen trips to the dance studio and chasing back and forth for football. A quick look at my calendar and you might agree that for me, EVERY day is one of THOSE days!
WOW! you really did have one of those days! I hope the weekend is a lot more smoother!

ReplyDeleteSounds like your day was only a little crazy. Better you than me.
ReplyDeleteIt made me tired just reading all that you did. You must take a nap everyday; it is the only way you will survive. At least this was what I used to say to myself; but seldom able to do.
ReplyDeleteKeep on enjoying all of these precious moments.
