Shop til you Flop

The last couple of days have been pretty crazy. Black Friday followed by Cyber Monday... I have done way too much looking for bargains.

How about you? Where is your favorite place to shop?

Getting Ready for Ghana

Today was a very special day for Taco. He gave his last talk at Church before he heads off for his mission in Ghana.

After he was finished, we went back to the house for a little party.

Not nearly enough pics, just know that it was another great day.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. Lots of food and fun. How was yours?

Another Crash

I guess it was more like a crunch.

Let me give you the details and you can decide. Yesterday I was a bit too traumatized to tell you what happened...

So Dog Walker and I were running a few errands and our last stop was the Dollar Tree. I pulled into a spot in front of the store and just as I opened my door to get out, someone came barreling into the spot next to me and hit my driver's door.

The 2 cars were stuck and my door was hyperextended.

The girl was so sweet and so sorry. But by the time we got a police report an hour later, we were both freezing.

The officer helped us unwedge the cars, but my door wouldn't shut. This is what it looks like in daylight.

Since the door wouldn't shut, she bought me some little bungie cords. We rolled down both front and back windows and we had a very chilly ride home. At least I avoided a tow.

Now we wait...

He Speaks

Today was another crazy day! We were up just after 6:00am so we could listen to Sport speak (along with 3 other missionaries) to the Stake Presidency and the High Council.

Then it was back at the house to finish prepping food, setting tables, and cleaning up. We finished just in time to get ready for Sacrament Meeting. It was another precious hour to renew our covenants and hear Sport report on his mission to the congregation.

He did a fantastic job!

Then back at the house we had a little party. Somewhere around 40 people dropped by to talk to Sport and eat delicious sweet pork, tamales, and tacos.

I'll just leave you with a few pics.

So proud of you, Sport.❤

Birthdays Together

Last year, Bossy and Gamer started a new tradition. Since Scout and Taco were birthday buddies, we would take them both out to dinner the weekend before Thanksgiving.

One of our favorite places is Texas Roadhouse, so 14 of us (15 with Nate showing up on his break) created quite a party!

Scout loved her ice cream sundae, but as her first official act of adulthood (in 6 days), she refused to sit on the saddle. No amount of pleading could change her mind.

Taco is turning 19 on Sunday, and he was happy to give it a ride. Both received a loud whoop and a hollar.

Happy birthday, y'all!!

Traveling as Two - Last Day in Hawaii

Tuesday was our last day in Hawaii. We got up early for a final little tour. It was our only actual hike. Did you know that Hawaii has rainforests? One minute we are in the middle of Waikiki and 20 minutes later, it looks like Hawaii 5.0.

We hiked the trail for about 45 minutes, but then we turned back. A rainforest hike is for young people.

After we checked out of the hotel, we picked an easier activity, a visit to Queen Emma's Summer Palace.

It was beautiful! But time to move on. There were a couple of things at Pearl Harbor that we still wanted to see.

We started at the Bowfin Submarine. We were just going to the museum and not down into the submarine...

Didn't happen. We caved. Inside was tiny! My poor sweetie's knees hurt so bad after crawling through those round doors. But the museum was nice...

My phone had just enough juice to get us into the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, so I don't have any pictures, but it was awesome.

Then it was time to return the rental car and make our way to the airport. Our tickets were for the red-eye, so we spent a few hours at the Delta Sky Club. I even convinced the bartender to make me a virgin mai-tai.

l

Yeah, I was really that tired...

And now we are home. Thanks, Hawaii, for some awesome memories.
